Born in San Jose, Meena Rakasi is a straight-A student at Valley Christian High School. She is involved in many extracurricular activities including the debate team and playing the synth piano in her school band. She spends more than 20 vigorous hours a week perfecting her musical craft with her band members. She also does scientific research at her school, which is sent to the International Space Station.  Most of Meena’s extended family live far away, which is why she adores her close family, especially her little brother. She is bilingual — speaking English and a little Telugu, a language of south India. She will listen to any kind of music except country. One thing Meena wants to take out of the Mosaic program to learn skills that will enable her to make difference in the world.
